KLAS Motorsports Heads to Lime Rock Park This Week – #71 ARCA Menards Series Entry Driven by Andy Jankowiak is Ready for a Road Course in the Backyard of Whelen Engineering

KLAS Motorsports is rooted in New England. Team partners Kevin Lapierre (a native of Massachusetts) and Andy Seuss (a native of New Hampshire) are both originally from the region. That is a reason why this week’s visit to Lime Rock Park (CT) for the #71 team with driver Andy Jankowiak is a special event.

Another reason that makes this event special is that the team will roll out a road course car that is a new acquisition for the team. They have been hard at work in their Statesville, North Carolina shop prepping it for the race.

And finally, longtime partner and primary sponsor for the race, Whelen Engineering, is based in New England.

“We are excited to go to New England – which is home for several of us at KLAS Motorsports,” said managing partner Andy Seuss. “We have so much to be excited for this week. Our road course program has been getting better. We have a new car that should improve our performance even more. Plus, it is in the backyard of Whelen. We are looking forward to showing everyone there a good race close to home.”

Jankowiak isn’t quite from New England, he hails from the neighboring state of New York, but he is also glad to be racing in the Northeast.

“I’ve had the opportunity to race Modifieds in New England quite a bit,” said Jankowiak. “The fans up there are great. Their support means a lot to all of us. We love Whelen too! We are always proud to carry their colors and that means even more when it is their home race.

“(Crew chief) Mike (Dayton) and everyone in the shop has been working hard to get this road course car to go fast. I’ve been around the shop too and I have felt all of their energy in getting ready for Lime Rock. This should be a very good race for KLAS Motorsports.”

KLAS Motorsports & Andy J to Wear Red, White and Blue This Week – #71 ARCA Menards Series Entry to Sport a Holiday Paint Scheme in Series Return to Chicagoland Speedway

KLAS Motorsports will be celebrating the Fourth of July holiday weekend in style as they head
to Chicagoland Speedway for Friday’s Ashley Furniture 150 ARCA Menards Series race. The
team will showcase a special red, white and blue holiday paint scheme on their #71 entry driven
by Andy Jankowiak.

“It’s beautiful,” said Jankowiak. “This car is really going to stand out in the crowd. Team owners
Kevin Lapierre and Andy Seuss take a lot of pride in how our cars and our team are presented.
They are so passionate about this team and I am humbled to be associated with that. It’s a big
point of pride for me.”

“We are excited to be able to appreciate our country’s 250 th birthday with this car,” said Seuss.
“Men and women have fought and sacrificed for our freedom and this is the least that we can do
to show our respect to them.”

The ARCA Menards Series has not visited Chicagoland Speedway since 2019. Seuss has two
starts at the track, coming in 2016 and 2017, and is hoping to use that background to help the
#71 team this time out.

“It was a fun track to go to as a driver,” said Seuss. “I have some great memories there. Now, I
will be back there in a different role and I hope that I can help Andy J.”

Jankowiak has never raced at Chicago, but has been preparing for the event by watching film
and spending time simulating races there.

“We think that the track will be similar to Kansas Speedway,” said Jankowiak. “I’ve been
prepping for the race on the sim and it seems like there is a good arc on the backstretch. That
might throw us a bit of a curveball. We will make the adjustments that we need to though. There
might be a little bit of a learning curve, but I feel confident that we will end up where we need to
be after practice.”

Jankowiak has been busy in his time away from the ARCA Menards Series by running races on
the short tracks of his native Western New York. He has been racing his Tour-type Modified,
Sportsman Modified and TQ Midget. His record is six victories in eight starts.

“We are definitely dialed in with the Sportsman Modified,” said Jankowiak. “The midget has
been super-fast. We are working on the Modified project and that requires some focus and a
little more work, but to have two out of three racecars winning is pretty good.”

Bad Luck and Trouble Find Andy J and KLAS Motorsports at Michigan – A Pair of Setbacks Might Scale Back Bonus Races for the Upstart ARCA Team

For the second consecutive race, the #71 KLAS Motorsports team with driver Andy Jankowiak found themselves in the wrong place at the wrong time during an ARCA Menards Series race. They got caught up in a wreck that could not be avoided on Friday in the Henry Ford Health 200 at Michigan Speedway.

Unfortunately, the ensuing 15th-place finish may have put an end to the “bonus” part of their 2026 schedule. After the team won at Talladega Superspeedway and found themselves in contention for the series championship, team principal Kevin Lapierre added extra races to their part-time schedule. Those events were at Toledo Speedway (OH) and Michigan.

At Toledo, the #71 got caught behind two lapped cars that were spinning. This led to a wreck. At Michigan, the #71 got caught on the outside of two cars that made contact. This also led to a wreck.

With a pair of wrecked racecars, poor finishes in those two events and lack of primary sponsorship for next weekend’s event at Pocono Raceway (PA), the team will resume their part-time status unless a miracle last-second sponsor steps up very quickly.

“There are highs and lows in racing,” said Jankowiak. “It looks like we used a lot of our good fortune at Talladega. This is unfortunate and heartbreaking really. I hate letting Kevin and the team down. Michigan was a lot like Toledo. The car showed really good speed in practice. It acted a little different in traffic during the race, but we were building up some momentum.

“Two cars got together underneath us. We got caught up in it and that ruined our day. I think that we would have had a top five run otherwise because we really had some good speed in clean air.”

Jankowiak was credited with the 15th finishing position in the rain shortened race.

“We would have loved to continue to chase the championship, and we’ve got a great fleet of cars to do so,” said Managing Partner Andy Seuss. “We recently added another car to our fleet that we will be debuting soon. We continue to grow our team, and our recent speed has shown that, but our luck hasn’t been able to get the finishes we deserved. At this point, we will focus our resources and budget on continuing to pursue quality of races over quantity. We hope to add races and our goal is to get to the point we can compete full time, but right now our next race will be Chicago.”

The team are not hanging their heads though. They know that they have a lot to offer a potential marketing partner and they are proud of their growth into a race-winning organization.

“We are really encouraged by the speed that we are showing,” said Jankowiak. “We learn from every race and we are a lot smarter coming out of Michigan. It’s just unfortunate how things turned out. We will be back!”

The #71 featured a salute to racing legend Bentley Warren and his establishment Bentley’s Saloon in Arundel, Maine at Michigan Speedway. Bentley Warren Throws an Assist to KLAS Motorsports & Andy J – Bentley’s Saloon Partners With the #71 ARCA Menards Series Entry at Michigan

The addition of the Henry Ford Health 200 at Michigan Speedway to the schedule for KLAS Motorsports and driver Andy Jankowiak was already a cool thing. The #71 team co-owned by Kevin Lapierre and Andy Seuss won their first ARCA Menards Series race last month at Talladega Superspeedway (AL) and found themselves in the upper echelon of the point standings. So, they expanded their part-time status to see what might happen next.

And what happened was joining forces with a racing legend.

Bentley’s Saloon, the Arundel, Maine establishment owned by the one and only Bentley Warren partnered with KLAS Motorsports for the Michigan race.

Warren is iconic and the partnership is ironic. Warren’s final Supermodified victory at Oswego Speedway (NY) came with the #71 on his racecar.

“We are going to Michigan!” said Seuss. “It’s part of our restructured season to see if it makes sense to go at this full-time. Pocono and Michigan were two races that were not on our original schedule, but they were races that we wanted to add. Kevin stepped up and said that we are going to do this race no matter what. We did not expect that Bentley Warren and Bentley’s Saloon would become that “what”. Bentley is a hero of ours and this amazing.

“They say that there are two kinds of racers in the world – those who know who Bentley Warren is and those who don’t. At KLAS Motorsports, we all fit into that first category!”

“I’ve heard of him,” laughed Jankowiak. “He is the true representation of the racer that we all hope to be. He has been successful in everything that he has done. He has won so many races in the most badass racecars on the planet. He has raced in the Indy 500. To reach those heights coming from short tracks is really something.

“This is going to get people excited. It is so cool to have his name on our racecar. He’s the coolest guy in racing and now he is giving back.”

The slogan of Bentley’s Saloon is actually a question and an answer at the same time – “Who has more fun than us? We do!”

“We sure do,” said Jankowiak. “That fits with our team perfectly.”

Adding the Michigan and Pocono races could be very beneficial to the KLAS Motorsports team.

“Both places have been really good to us,” said Seuss. “We got our first top five finish as a team at Michigan in 2023. Pocono is a neat historic track that is close to our friends in the Northeast. Our intermediate track program has been good. There are a lot of positives we have going for us.”

“We’ve had a bit of a roller coaster going on this year,” said Jankowiak. “We won Talladega and then Toledo was disappointing (after the #71 got into a wreck started by two lapped cars). We are ready to put our foot down and get some more results.”

If the #71 team can string together a pair of strong races at Michigan and at Pocono the following week, their schedule might get even busier heading into the summer.

“We will reset and look in the mirror,” said Seuss. “Running for the championship is a huge financial undertaking. It will also take a lot of time, work and resources. We will have to figure out if it makes sense. This will give us the first eight races and we can see if it makes sense to go to all of the next twelve or not. We do think that we can do this, but we need a little bit of help and a little bit of luck.”

KLAS Motorsports Keeps Fighting at Toledo ARCA Race – Andy Jankowiak Would Not Give Up After an Unavoidable Wreck

Sometimes, the bad moments in sports define a team as much or more than the glorious moments do.

That was the case for KLAS Motorsports and driver Andy Jankwoaik on Saturday night during the ARCA Menards Series event at Toledo Speedway (OH). The team recently won their first race in the series at Talladega Superspeedway (AL). Because of that success, they were able to find the resources to expand their schedule. The Toledo race was added as a result.

At Toledo, Jankowiak was fifth quickest in practice, sixth in qualifying and placed as high as fourth early in the race. That was until he came upon a car spinning in front of him. Jankowiak could not avoid a wreck and ended up with his #71 stuffed into the high-density foam safety barrier of the track.

At first, Jankowiak tried to drive away from the incident, but the car was too heavily damaged. So, then he exited the car and immediately ran to the right side of it to assess the damage. Next, he ran to the left rear corner and got under the car to assess the damage further. It was such an unusual sight that even the rescue worker tasked with helping him appeared confused as to what he was doing.

Jankowiak then plugged his radio back in to deliver a damage report to the team while simultaneously pleading with the track workers for a quick tow back to the pits.

The KLAS Motorsports team was waiting for their wounded racecar with the correct tools and parts, refusing to give up. They repaired the on pit road in a ballet of well organized chaos. NASCAR allows four crew members to go over the wall to service the car and at one point, Managing Partner Andy Seuss stepped away to rebuild a shock. Jankowiak put his helmet back on and filled in as the fourth man to work on the car.

Their efforts were successful. Even though they finished the race 45 laps down, the team moved up from a likely 26th-place finish to a 21st-place result. This yielded valuable points. The team only lost one position in the standings and Jankowiak is now ranked fourth in the driver points.

However, their primary short track car is now heavily damaged and that could keep them from adding even more races unless sponsorship help is found.

“We were here without a sponsor and then we wrecked the car,” Jankowiak told Frontstretch.com after the race. “We have to make something really special happen at Michigan and Pocono to justify adding (more races). We needed today to go perfectly. Probably the exact opposite of what we needed today is what happened.”

KLAS Motorsports has already committed to the next two ARCA Menards Series events, which are scheduled for Michigan Speedway and Pocono Speedway (PA). They are in need of additional marketing partners to add more races to their schedule.

KLAS Motorsports and Andy Jankowiak Add Bonus Race at Toledo – ARCA Menards Series Victory at Talladega Changes Team Plans

When KLAS Motorsports put together their proposed limited schedule of ARCA Menards Series races for the 2026 season, this week’s event at Toledo Speedway (OH) was not on it.

The team planned to focus on intermediate tracks, a road course and the superspeedways. Then came a victory in the Alabama Manufactured Housing 200 at Talladega Superspeedway (AL) late last month.

Toledo was added as a bonus race as Jankowiak found himself in the thick of the driver’s point battle. He is currently third in the standings just 11 markers back from the lead.

“Toledo is our first bonus race added after the win,” said Jankowiak. “We are keeping our points conversation alive! We have sponsorship spots open for the races that we just added at Toledo, Pocono and Michigan. If we can lock those down, we are hopeful that we can add more races and possibly contend for a championship.”

Jankowiak has competed twice in his career at Toledo Speedway. In 2022, he finished 11th there as an owner/driver. In 2023, he drove for the KLAS Motorports team there in the team’s inaugural season. He qualified fifth and finished seventh in that race.

Currently, the team does not have a primary sponsor for the Toledo race. The team is looking for marketing partners to add to their program and their schedule this year.

Andy Jankowiak and KLAS Motorsports Finish 13th at The Glen – A Respectable Finish on the Road Course Leads to a Good Points Day

Rain could not damper the trip to Watkins Glen International (NY) for KLAS Motorsports and their driver Andy Jankowiak. They raced at the historic road course on Friday in the General Tire 100 ARCA Menards Series event. Qualifying was washed out and practice consisted of some messy weather, but the team were treated like kings and queens from the time that they pulled onto the property in honor of their recent victory at Talladega Speedway (AL).

Fans of the team were set up in a special hospitality area to watch the race and a banner was displayed congratulating home state driver Jankowiak and his team. Kind words from officials, competitors and fans were also shared throughout the weekend.

Jankowiak placed the team’s #71 into the sixth position in the practice session rundown. They also started in that same sixth position after qualifying was rained out and the field was set by owner point standings.

Without much dry track practice, the team did not get to test out a new set up that they decided upon prior to the race weekend. Their changes did not quite work out as planned. The event had only one caution period and little attrition, so the team did not have much of an opportunity to fine tune the car in race conditions either. Still, they stayed on the lead lap and logged a respectable 13th-place finish.

“We, as a team, opted for an experiment with the setup,” said Jankowiak. “We rolled the dice , but the changes did not work out like we thought. The car is in one piece. It wasn’t as exciting as our Talladega race, but it was a good points day.”

With the top 15 finish, Jankowiak moved into the third position of the ARCA Menards Series driver point standings. He is now 14 points out of the lead and just two points from the second position in the standings.

Andy Jankowiak Returns to Homestate as an ARCA Race Winner – KLAS Motorsports Going Hunting for Another Road Course Top Ten Finish

For the first time in his ARCA Menards Series career, Andy Jankowiak will walk into the pit area as a race winner this week at Watkins Glen International (NY). The driver for the #71 KLAS Motorsports team is still on cloud nine after winning at Talladega Superspeedway recently. Jankowiak is very much aware though that even as he races in his home state for the only time all year in ARCA competition, there is a job to do. That mission is to record another solid finish on the road course at Watkins Glen.

“It will definitely be a bit of a homecoming party and we will enjoy that, but we have to keep our eyes on the prize here and stay sharp,” said Jankowiak. “There might be an opportunity to add some races to our schedule, so we need to keep that momentum going.”

Last season, Jankowiak finished a very respectable seventh at Watkins Glen.

“I think that we would be happy with a solid top ten finish,” said Jankowiak. “It would be nice to get a top five finish though. I’m not a road course driver and we don’t spend a lot of time on our road course program (in comparison to other types of tracks where the KLAS Motorsports team runs more often). A top ten will be a good day, but if we just hang out and stay out of trouble, you never know what may happen.”

KLAS Motorsports and Andy J Win at Talladega – Driver and Team Complete a Long Journey to Visit ARCA Menards Series Victory Lane

KLAS Motorsports with Andy Jankowiak won the ARCA Menards Series Alabama Manufactured Housing 200 at Talladega Superspeedway (AL) on Saturday.

That one sentence states a fact, but it cannot even begin to describe the journey that it took for the team and driver to win for their first time at such a high level of the sport.

“I wanted to win it more for the team than for myself,” said Jankowiak. “I’m gifted this opportunity (to be on the team). There has never been more of a true team effort. We built this team from nothing. I’m not just a driver. I’m a part of a team. For some of these races, we have 50 people who plan their whole weekends and travel around this thing that I do.

“It has always been a “we” effort. I have never done this by myself. That is a weight that I carry and I wanted to make up for it here. I have this opportunity and I wanted to come through for everyone else. I wanted them to be proud. We did it and I feel about 1,000 pounds lighter right now.”

Team owner Kevin Lapierre celebrated a birthday this week and giving him a nice gift is something that gave Jankowiak a little bit of extra motivation.

“Kevin kept saying that he wanted me to win for his birthday”, said Jankowiak. “That matters. Those little things matter when you are out there and it’s hot, people are pushing you around and you are about ready to spin. It’s those little things keep you digging in a game of inches.”

Family ties mattered in this victory. Lapierre was at the track with his wife and daughter. Managing partner Andy Seuss was there with his parents, wife Jenn and their children. Jankowiak was there was his girlfriend, mother and a very special uncle.

“My Uncle Jake went to my first go-kart race in 2001 and helped me set it up,” said Jankowiak. “And he was here today going over the wall to change tires.”

It seems fitting that the next race on the KLAS Motorsports schedule is in Jankowiak’s home state of New York. In two weeks, the ARCA Menards Series will visit the road course at Watkins Glen International.

“We are going to get back on it and try to win again this year,” said Jankowiak.

Those aren’t just words. That effort is already in progress. After the victory lane celebrations and interviews, crew chief Mike Dayton was already coordinating Monday morning’s shop assignments with Jankowiak and several crew members before they even left the track.

The new trophy sitting in the shop on Monday morning will undoubtedly provide a little extra motivation.
