The #73 KLAS Motorsports KLAS Motorsports team had a solid outing in the Tide 150 ARCA Menards Series race at Kansas Speedway on Friday night. Andy Jankowiak qualified eighth and finished sixth in the #73 Dak’s Market/Whelen Toyota.
The team was able to gather information on Friday morning as NASCAR allowed competitors to take part in an optional test and practice session. Jankowiak logged laps in both the primary and backup KLAS Motorsports entries and the young team filled their notebooks with valuable data to help with their growth. Jankowiak placed both entries within the top 10 of the speed charts of the session.
Later in the day, Jankowiak qualified eighth in the 26-car field. He advanced his position within the first few laps and ran in the top five throughout most of the event. On the final restart of the race, which actually took place in overtime, Jankowiak fought a tough battle with Lavar Scott for the fifth position. Scott edged out Jankowiak by less than one-tenth of a second to take the position.
With the finish, Jankowiak and the #73 team maintain their ranking of fourth in the ARCA Menards Series point standings.
DAK’s Market and Whelen were the primary sponsors of the #73 at Kansas Speedway. Automotive Consultants of Ithaca, Florida Safety Systems and Yukon Creek Sportsman Club are all among the marketing partners for the event.
The next race for the ARCA Menards Series is the General Tire 150 at Charlotte Motor Speedway. That event is scheduled for 6pm ET on Friday, May 23rd. It will be broadcast live on Fox Sports 1 and on the Fox Sports App.
